Mobile betting: apps, mobile sites and staying safe
Most betting now happens on a phone, either in a bookmaker's app or on its mobile site. Both reach the same account; the differences are speed, notifications and how the app is installed.
This guide covers what to check before you install anything and how to keep control of betting on your phone.
- Same account
- App and site same odds and balance
- Android APK
- Official site only never from messages
- Notifications
- Optional turn offers off
- Age limit
- 18+ at every bookmaker we list
Short answer
App or mobile site?
Use whichever works on your phone. An app can be faster during live matches; a mobile site needs no install and no extra permissions. Either way, secure the account and set limits before you deposit.

Glossary
Glossary
- Live betting
- Bets placed while the match is being played. So what: prices move fast and the margin is often higher than before the start.
- Cash out
- Settling a bet early for an amount the bookmaker offers. So what: the offer includes the bookmaker's margin, so it is usually below the fair value.
- Stake
- The amount you put on a bet. So what: fixed small stakes keep a losing run from emptying the account.
- Bankroll
- The money you set aside for betting and can afford to lose. So what: stakes should be a small share of it, never money you need.
FAQ
Is an app better than the mobile site?
Not necessarily. Apps can be faster and send notifications; mobile sites need no installation. The odds and account are the same.
Is it safe to install an APK file?
Only from the bookmaker's own site, never from links in messages or groups. An APK from an unknown source can contain malware. Android asks you to allow installs from that source; switch it off again afterwards.
How do I protect my account on a phone?
Use a screen lock, a strong password and two-step login if the site offers it, and do not save card or wallet PINs in the browser.
Can I set limits in the app?
Most bookmakers let you set deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in the account settings on any device.
Do notifications matter?
Bet offers pushed to your phone encourage impulse bets. Turn promotional notifications off if they lead you to bet more than planned.
Is online betting legal in Bangladesh?
No. The Gambling Prevention Act 2026, passed on 1 July 2026, replaced the Public Gambling Act 1867 and makes online gambling and online betting offences, with prison terms of up to five and seven years respectively, or fines, or both. A bookmaker's foreign licence does not change this. See our responsible gambling page.
